This Privacy Policy explains how Jeera ("Jeera," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you use our website, application, and related services (collectively, the "Service") at jeera.io. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
When you sign in with Google, we receive and store your name, email address, and profile picture from Google, as provided to us through Google OAuth via our authentication provider, Supabase. Jeera does not receive or store your Google password, and we do not request access to your Gmail, Drive, or other Google services beyond basic profile information needed to create your account.
We store the content you create or upload while using Jeera, including boards ("workspaces"), items/tasks, custom fields, documents, comments, forms and form submissions, file attachments, chat messages with AI features, and configuration such as views, automations, and team membership. This content is stored in our database (hosted on Supabase) and, for file attachments, in encrypted object storage.
We log actions taken on your boards — who changed what, and when — to power the audit log and keep collaborators in sync. When a change is made through a connected AI tool via a personal API key, we record which tool made the change and, if the tool reports it, an estimated cost figure for that action, so you can see AI usage alongside human activity.
Like most web applications, we automatically collect limited technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited, through server logs and Google Analytics (GA4). We configure GA4 with IP anonymization enabled. We use this information in aggregate to understand product usage and diagnose problems, not to build individual advertising profiles.
If you generate a personal API key to connect an external AI tool to Jeera, we store a one-way cryptographic hash of that key, never the key itself in readable form. If you lose your key, we cannot recover it — you can only revoke it and generate a new one.
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in (managed by Supabase Auth), plus analytics cookies from Google Analytics if you have not opted out. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels.
This is important enough that we want to explain it plainly. Jeera's AI-powered features — chat with your workspace assistant, AI-built views and forms, drafting documents, and running automations — do not work by sending your data to an AI model that Jeera operates. Instead, when you use an AI feature, our server assembles a prompt (your request plus relevant context from your board) and hands that prompt to an AI command-line tool already installed on your own computer or connected account — for example Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI, or GitHub Copilot — using your own subscription or API credentials for that tool. The AI processing itself happens through that tool and its provider, under that provider's own privacy terms, not ours.
The one narrow exception is a short connectivity check we use to confirm an AI tool is reachable; this does not involve sending your work content anywhere. Because AI inference happens through the tool you choose and control, you should review the privacy practices of whichever AI provider you connect (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, GitHub, or others) — Jeera is not responsible for how those third parties handle data once it leaves our servers through your own connected tool.
Jeera's companion desktop application, the Jeera Local Agent, runs entirely on your own machine and relays requests between your browser and your locally installed AI CLI tools over your computer's local network interface (localhost). It does not send your data to Jeera's servers beyond what your browser already exchanges with the Jeera web app directly.
We do not use your board content to train any AI model, ours or a third party's, and we do not sell your personal information to data brokers or advertisers.
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your information under the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you signed up for), legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service), and consent (for optional analytics cookies, where required). You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
We retain your account and content for as long as your account is active, so that the Service works the way you expect. If you delete a board, item, or document, we mark it deleted immediately and it is no longer accessible to you or your collaborators; the underlying record is retained for a limited period to support recovery and abuse prevention before permanent removal. If you delete your account (see Section 8), we permanently delete your account, boards, items, documents, comments, attachments, API keys, and related content within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention and dispute resolution.
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit (TLS) and at rest, row-level access controls so that only people you grant access to can read your boards, and one-way hashing of API keys so that even we cannot read them in plaintext. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

If you are in the EEA/UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Jeera and its service providers may process and store information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where we transfer personal information out of the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognized under applicable data protection law, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, or transfers to providers certified under an approved framework.
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
The Service lets you connect third-party AI tools and integrations, and may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third party. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of every third-party tool or service you choose to connect to Jeera.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and, where appropriate, through the Service or by email. Your continued use of the Service after a change becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
